We are currently seeking a Equipment Operator to join our dynamic Team supporting a major telecommunications infrastructure project.
JOB SUMMARY:
The role of an Equipment Operator is to operate in a safe manner various pieces of heavy construction equipment. Candidate must be able to work under minimal supervision and communicate courteously and pro-actively. Able to complete projects despite obstacles; able to classify technical information and redirect efforts when necessary.

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment.
  • Operates trenching equipment in the vicinity of existing utilities.
  • Pneumatic Missile Operation.
  • May be required to operate various pieces of equipment (i.e. dump truck and trailer, backhoe, excavator, loader, bulldozer, etc.)
  • Towing various trailers with flatbed trucks
  • Provides support for crews during all phases of construction activity
  • Minimum two years of experience with construction, excavation, and equipment operation.
    Certified on the use of equipment:
o Line truck o Bucket truck o Cable Reel equipment
SECONDARY DUTIES
  • Field work as needed to support primary duties to include walking ofsites
  • Base knowledge of aerial and underground construction
  • Working in manhole systems, verifying and proofing existing conduit systems
  • Rodding and roping conduit systems
  • Trenching in streets and landscaped areas with small excavating equipment

REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to read, write and speak with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight forward, and professional manner
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license. This position requires the applicant to have and maintain a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A Endorsement Required)
  • Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring device
  • Lift and carry up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to read and understand maps, drawings and diagrams for project build process
  • City, County and State clearance code knowledge and related
  • Extensive knowledge of Network architecture and design for both RF and Fiber networks
  • Flagger Certified for field work as needed
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
