A DAY IN THE LIFE Enthalpy Analytical, a subsidiary of Montrose Environmental Group, is currently seeking a full-time Environmental QA Associate II to join our South Richmond team in Richmond, Virginia. This associate will play a leading role in identifying, implementing and managing changes required for the laboratory to become an accredited participant in the Department of Defense Environmental Laboratory Accreditation program (DoD ELAP) through compliance with the DoD/DoE Quality Systems Manual (QSM). The QA Associate II will also review Laboratory Quality Control data, workflow, and procedures with the goal of assuring data of know quality and accuracy. As a key member of the QA team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including: ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review of client data to ensure its compliance with Enthalpy Analytical, LLC.’s quality system, the reference method, and the customers’ requirements
  • Perform final review and certification of client data and data reports.
  • Write and edit basic to moderately complex analytical data reports for potential submission to regulatory authorities and clients
  • Collect and interpret data whose intent is to track laboratory quality control data trends or to document the lab’s performance (control charts, audit sample data)
  • Provide feedback and coaching to laboratory analysts and supervisors on observed data package deficiencies, misunderstandings and recommendations for improvement
  • Assist Client Services team in responding to client and validator questions regarding data interpretation and usability
  • Perform internal audit activities as directed by the QA Manager
  • Review and update SOPs per the review schedule as directed by the QA Manager
  • Archive data according to SOPs
  • Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or other related sciences, at minimum
  • Minimum 5 years prior experience in an environmental testing laboratory, or 2 years as a DoD Project Chemist
  • Familiarity with DoD projects and QSM requirements
  • Previous experience as a laboratory supervisor or laboratory Project Manager preferred
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Good working knowledge of environmental laboratory testing methods and quality control practices
  • Ability to collaborate with lab team members to gather, review and interpret data, generate documentation and reports
  • Effective written, editorial and proof-reading skills
  • Effective oral communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Effective Time Management skills
