Golder is seeking an EHS Compliance Specialist to join our Mt. Laurel, New Jersey office. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible to assist clients with the implementation of their EHS programs. Job activities may involve working in client facilities, conducting EHS compliance audits, preparing regulatory reports, assisting with the implementation of EHS management systems, industrial hygiene sampling, and report preparation under the direction of a senior EHS professional.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Assisting clients with regulatory reporting (Tier II, TRI, stormwater, air emissions, residual, and hazardous waste)
- Conducting EHS compliance audits
- Development of EHS compliance programs, plans and training programs
- Development and assessments of EHS management systems
- Ability to understand and interpret EHS regulations (40 CFR, 29 CFR, State and Municipal equivalents) and guidance documents to support development of client EHS programs
- Project execution including preparation of proposals and project reports, project management, and delivering high quality work to meet budget and client schedule expectations
- Willing and able to work long hours as needed, depending on project work
- Safely perform work in the office and field; fieldwork may occur in all seasonal weather conditions, using equipment and operating vehicles on behalf of the company
- Local and national travel (up to 50% of the time) with possible short-term or long-term assignments at project sites
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related fields
- Minimum 4 years of relevant EHS work experience, including internships
- Computer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computer software including Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills combined with leadership ability, a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups
- Acute attention to detail; accuracy is essential
- Understanding the importance of health & safety as a top priority and an enthusiasm to participate in Golder’s associated programs
Desired:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or other related fields preferred
- Experience serving as an EHS consultant or on-site EHS professional
- Experience with:
- EHS auditing, program development and preparation of environmental regulatory reports
- Developing EHS management systems and familiarity with standards such as ISO 14001 and 45001
- Performing industrial hygiene sampling
- Conducting air quality projects including permit applications and compliance plans
- Proposal development and cost estimating
- Project management
- ISO 14001 and 45001 internal auditor or lead auditor training
