Job Description


Verisk is seeking an Enterprise FP&A Manager to lead the strategic planning process (includes multi-year plans, budgets, and quarterly forecasts) and coordination of related business presentations. In this role, you'll support the decision-making process by delivering accurate and timely data, analysis, and recommendations and continuously develop and maintain reporting, analytical and modeling capabilities/methodologies of team.

As FP&A Manager you will lead and develop a team of FP&A analysts to achieve team objectives and enable company financial and business goals.

In this role you will:

Analyze, Plan, Report

  • Provide routine and ad-hoc financial reporting to facilitate understanding of results in achieving company goals
  • Support the creation of presentations to Investors, the Board of Directors, and Senior Management
  • Other ad-hoc requests

Partner and Communicate

  • Assist with ad hoc projects/analyses, supporting various business units and functional groups to ensure that assumptions, tactics, and results are value-add and compatible with company goals
  • Compare actual results to budget/forecast and work with business partners to understand variance drivers
  • Collaborate with Accounting/Finance on the month-end close process and related analyses
  • Collaborate with Financial Systems on the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes to ensure accurate data collection and a seamless end-user experience
  • Provide formal and informal training on financial concepts and systems to the organization
  • Collaborate with other business groups to gain knowledge of upcoming changes (process changes, accounting changes, etc.) that may impact planning and reporting processes
  • Proactively interface with other finance groups to promote best practices and standardization

Manage and Develop

  • Prioritize team initiatives and workflow, challenge team behaviors, develop talent and reinforce the efforts of others to ensure a high-functioning team


Qualifications


About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an AACSB accredited college or university required (Business, Finance, or related financial discipline preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in either a corporate or business unit finance role, an accounting firm, investment banking or consulting with 3+ years of experience in a public company
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of demonstrated quantitative and finance skills in educational and professional background
  • Strong working knowledge of corporate business processes and fundamental Finance/Accounting concepts including, but not limited to, budgeting/forecasting, capital planning, external reporting, return on invested capital and major financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills with the ability to interpret and summarize key points from large data sets to aid in the decision-making process
  • Track record of leading and collaborating across functions to gain buy-in, support, and assistance from business partners
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously to deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Expert level Excel skills and strong proficiency in PowerPoint; knowledge of financial planning and business intelligence systems a plus
  • Experience managing and delegating workflow of direct reports, challenging team behaviors, developing talent and reinforcing the efforts of others
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
