Your Career
Unlike IT departments of the past, the Palo Alto Networks IT department is now a full-fledged engineering organization. Equipped with a full team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and next-generation Data Visualization technologies. Together we are building the ‘Predictive Enterprise’, an infrastructure that will allow Palo Alto Networks the ability to make the best and fastest business decisions based on all data available. The growth of this team includes the addition of a Data Architect who will Lead and Own the enterprise data strategy and roadmap for Palo Alto Networks.
Your Impact
- Lead and Own the enterprise data strategy and roadmap for Palo Alto Networks
- Develop data strategy to make data analytics a competitive advantage e.g., by incorporating scalable technologies into the data engineering products and services
- Shaping and enforcing technical architectures within the multiple data engineering organization with which we partner
- Work across multiple teams to help connect the moving parts in a very dynamic and fluid environment
- Defining data architecture best practices and ensuring compliance across the enterprise
- Engage with business leaders across all business units to understand required capabilities and translate to scalable technical solutions
- Own and drive Data integration architecture involving real-time streaming, batch and micro-batch for both cloud and on-premise applications
- Ability to design scalable data solutions leveraging cloud data warehouse technologies (preferable in Google Cloud Platform)
- Deliver data solutions using Agile methodology
- Define data quality framework to measure and monitor data quality across the enterprise
- Enable democratization of data (data usability, availability, and reliability) across the enterprise
Qualifications
Your Experience
- 8+ years of experience architecting, designing and developing large scale data solutions utilizing a mixture of Big Data and Relational database platforms
- Deep understanding of data modeling that facilitates both operational insights and reporting as well as enabling advanced AI/ML models in order to develop data-driven recommendations
- Proven experience leading teams resulting in the successful deployment of applications built on data platforms
- Experience driving technical ideas and communicating clearly with technical as well as non-technical audiences
- Experience as the technical lead or data architect, organizing and mentoring junior and intermediate level developers, data engineers or architects
- In-depth understanding of database structure principles
- Expertise in SQL and Data warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Enterprise SaaS experience preferred
- Experience with Google cloud platform preferred
- Firm believer of data driven decision making
- Great organization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Self-driven with the ability to work in a self-guided manner
- Strong problem-solving skills
