Job Description
The position requires the successful candidate to supervise and support students during recesses, lunches, and after-school extended days. The position also assists school-themed events’ decorations, organization, in addition to other tasks as needed. Primary Responsibilities
Working Conditions
Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
Expectations for Mini-Camp and Summer Care
During summer care and mini-camp, Enrichment Support Staff are considered camp counselors. They are expected to plan and implement activities under the guidance and supervision of the Enrichment Support Director or Assistant Director.
The Enrichment Support Director or Assistant Director will provide a theme for the camps and help to organize planning. Camp counselors can use the available time the week before the mini-camp for planning and preparation. Time will be given in the summer care schedule to allow for weekly planning and preparation.

- Supervise students at recess, lunch, dismissal, and extended care (playground, lunch area, hallways, classrooms if needed). Common sense, communication, and teamwork are the keywords for this position.

- Implement and organize age-appropriate games and activities
- Assist in resolving student conflicts on the playground.
- Keep the work up to date and provide oral or written (if needed) reports on student’s conflicts, dynamics, and interactions to her supervisor and principals.
- Assure students arrive to class promptly; collect equipment left on the playground areas.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality about the status of students and school activities
- Assist in weekly meetings with supervisor and rest of recess/ EC staff
- Your supervisor may assign other duties/ responsibilities
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous experience working with children and be attentive to their needs
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be able to implement and organize age-appropriate games and activities
- Have good oral and written communication skills
- Speaking Mandarin Chinese or French a plus
- Current CPR and 1st Aid certifications preferred

- Working with children and youth involves extensive physical activity, mental alertness, and enthusiasm.
- Good general health, physical stamina, and emotional stability are essential.
- Ability to hear within normal range and communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population
- Ability to move quickly to address emergency or potentially dangerous situations
- Ability to move about the building and the organization as needed
- Must be able to work outdoors in various types of weather conditions
