Job Description: Fleet Technical Support - Support level of effort as required by MARMC for CNRMC, Fleet, and COMSUBLANT/PAC assigned submarines, to include, but not limited to the following: Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA) and Casualty Report (CASREP) Support, Non-routine and complex onboard and distance support technical assistance. Evaluating, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and/or providing technical oversight and guidance to correct equipment deficiencies of the acoustic equipment in operational submarines as scheduled by MARMC.
Essential Functions:
- Onboard maintenance training to ship’s force personnel during technical assistance visits to improve ship’s force proficiency in operation and maintenance of acoustic systems.
- Onboard support for the acoustic systems portion of TSRA/WSRA. This includes, but is not limited to, Pre/Post-Maintainability Assessment visits and reports as part of the Total Ship Readiness Program.
- Submarine Acoustic Systems Modernization Support
- SPAWAR support as directed by MARMC C272
- Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Support
- Support to perform sonar system pre-installation testing of legacy retained equipment, equipment rip out, retained equipment post testing, and ECI installation support on submarines.
- Review/comment on documentation required for ECI installation
Qualifications:
- EDUCATION: No requirement specified.
- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of full-time engineering experience onboard submarines in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, or repair of submarine combat systems and/or weapons handling equipment. Experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective action.
- GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of full-time technical experience in the design, installation, test, or repair of electronics systems and equipment.
