DutiesSummary

About the Position: You will serve as an USACE Logistics Activity (ULA) Engineering Technician with overall responsibilities for addressing any issues associated with facilities at the District, Corps of Engineers and any ancillary facilities assigned to the District.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections to identify deficiencies on all buildings.
  • Coordinate repairs to address deficiencies on all buildings.
  • Forecast schedule, budget, manpower, or quality problems.
  • Analyze cost reports to assure charges are all authorized and appropriate.
  • Develop an annual and long-range preventative maintenance program for all buildings to include identifying requirements, monitoring maintenance schedules, and inspection/certification on compliance of maintenance performed.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, which includes planning and estimating a variety of projects that range from routine and repetitive to complex and costly; providing system control, oversight, data entry, repair history, analysis and documentation of the ongoing maintenance control program for equipment including electrical and mechanical operating equipment, machinery, miscellaneous tools; and forecasting scheduling, budgeting manpower or quality problems and ensuring proper resolution of issues raised regarding contracts and/or engineering projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

    You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

    Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Education
