The Ribbon Call Trust is a comprehensive solution designed to validate a caller’s identity, intent, and reputation. Ribbon Call Trust leverages several Ribbon solutions, including its industry-leading Session Border Controllers (SBC), Media Gateway (GSX), Policy and Routing (PSX), Call Controllers, Ribbon Secure Telephony Identity (STI), Ribbon Analytics, and Ribbon Identity Hub. Ribbon Call Trust team uses Agile software development methodologies and operates in the stream-aligned model, responsible for end-to-end solution delivery. It operates in a fast-paced and highly experimental fashion. In this role, you will develop micro-services and look into DevOps and service management aspects.

We are looking for a student to work as part of our team in a hands-on development role. You will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and open technology playground, where we leverage public cloud infrastructure and develop micro-services, deploy them and manage production aspects. The candidate should be able to stay current with evolving standards, and comfortable working in a distributed team environment.

As part of our team you will:

  • Research, evaluate and synthesize technical information from requirements and design specifications to develop test strategies and deploy the application/s-aas on the public/private cloud infrastructure. This will be done as a dev/devOps member within the Development team using a hybrid agile-waterfall methodology.
  • Automate the deployment and operations of the service in production.
  • Support planned and unplanned (issues) production activities.
  • Research and analyze defect escapes, to improve on overall test strategies and plans
  • Plan and configure the lab and test tools to replicate the customer/production issue as best as possible
  • Participate in new micro-services development and enhancements.
  • Transform ideas into data-driven solutions by working through all phases of dev and Ops of Saas.
  • Evaluate application requirements to explore, evaluate, recommend, and implement analytical and ML models utilizing latest tools
  • Build, demonstrate, and potentially deploy proof-of-concepts leveraging customer data sets, open technologies, and Ribbon Call Trust environment.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science/Systems, Electrical Engineering, Math or equivalent degree program
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking, self-starter and eager to learn.
  • Some programming (any one of C++, Java, Go, Rust)/scripting (preferably Python) experience is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience with security standards and benchmarks such as CIS, FIPS-140, and STIG is an asset.
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus:
    • GIT/GitLab/bitbucket
    • Public cloud services (preferably AWS)
