As a Bilingual Employment Specialist, you will identify a customer’s next steps in finding a job, training in an in-demand occupation, or going back to school. Your experience using computers and communication with customers is vital to this position.
What a typical day may look like:
- Provide staff-assisted customer services, conduct group and individual in-depth interviews, and assist customers with WorkSourcewa registration.
- Assist with reemployment appointments to review job readiness, employment barriers and customer needs.
- Identify employment and/or training goals, develop and monitor service plans, and develop recommendations for continuous engagement.
- Schedule and conduct reemployment and eligibility assessments.
- Ensure claimants are meeting work search requirements.
- Develop claimant action plan and/or issue work search directives, conduct follow-up to assist customers, and enter information in ESD case management system.
Option 1: A combination of education and/or relevant experience *totaling no less than six (6) years.
Option 2: One (1) year of experience as a WorkSource Specialist 2 within the Employment Security Department, or in an equivalent class with another state's Employment Security agency.
Education to Experience Equivalences: Associate Degree = 2 years | Bachelor Degree = 4 years | Masters or Higher = 5 years A Master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Additional Requirements of Employment:
- The ability to communicate proficiently in person, via telephone and in writing in Spanish and English.
- Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
- Per Governor Inslee's Proclamation 21-14 all state employees must be fully vaccinated.
- This position is based in a WorkSource location and requires in-person attendance with no option for full-time telework.
