EMPLOYEE RELATIONS SPECIALIST – HARTSVILLE, SC
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE EMPLOYEE RELATIONS SPECIALIST
- Administer core HR strategies, policies, and procedures and leverage the interests of the company and its employees.
- Communicate and interpret policies to facilitate a common understanding, acceptance, and consistent application throughout the facility and organization.
- Participate as necessary in all labor/employee relations activities.
- Understands and manages the key aspects of a non-unionized environment by facilitating a positive employee relations culture.
- Actively promotes and drives the maintenance of the non-union environment established within the facility. Encouraging continuity and healthy employee relations with plant management team and employees.
- Serve as the primary site HR interface with managers/supervisors at all levels to ensure appropriate HR support, service, and counsel is provided.
- Training/coaching of supervisors/managers in the interpretation and administration of the HR policies, procedures, and employee policy manual.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with applicable state, federal, and local requirements related to human resources function, including employment, EEO, ERISA, affirmative action, FMLA, ADA, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. Meet all labor related IRS and Department of Labor requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other HR Generalist to support corporate and business unit activities.
- Develop and administer programs designed to establish and maintain effective employee relations through the uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures. Provides coach and counsel to employees at every level of the organization. Audits organization to identify employee relations issues and recommends appropriate actions to address and resolve those issues. Responsible for conducting all investigations on behalf of the company. Handles employee questions, concerns, and grievances. Maintains employee relations records.
- Contribute to the regular strategic planning, review, and development of Human Resource Strategy and Resource planning and be an integral part of the site Management Group with the ability to contribute positively.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED FOR THE EMPLOYEE RELATIONS SPECIALIST
- High school diploma required.
- 4-8 years of HR generalist experience with an emphasis on employee relations experience
- Ability to interpret internal/external business issues and recommends best practices in own function. Has developed strong understanding in own function.
- Effectively and actively participates on projects, team, including coordination of resources outside of own area.
- Ability to monitor and control costs for own work and manage costs/budgets for projects or area.
- Be a team player.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED FOR THE EMPLOYEE RELATIONS SPECIALIST
- Four year college degree
