We are looking for a Emerging Technologies Manager. This role will lead the exploring, innovating, researching, developing and maturing new technologies which should influence the market in a time span of 3-5 years from initiation. The team is managing and executing high risk projects and preparing them to handover to Engineer groups.
Responsibilities
Drive Innovation and Manage High Risk Products
- Manage a researchers and engineering team, who are responsible to achieve proof of concept (POC) of the investigated technology, by theoretical approval, feasibility jigs or any other method.
- Identify, recommend, and drive product and productivity technology improvements, including awareness, tradeoff analysis, recommendations and solutions for the near, mid and long-term time frames.
- Lead initiatives to identify and manage next generation product technologies invention and development.
- Set plans including managing budget and initiatives
- Learn about technology gaps that need to be closed by innovation.
Drive and facilitate cooperation and collaboration
- Ensure cooperation and collaboration with R&D, engineering and Marketing groups in the company.
- Ensure productive and successful handover of the explored technologies to Engineering groups.
- Expend the use of new technologies by collaboration with research institutes.
Leadership
- Make recommendations to Sr. Management as to what strategic initiatives should be undertaken and funded to ensure that SSYS remain the world class supplier of 3DP, DDM and prototyping services for the medium to long run (3-5 years).
- Lead team of engineers through coaching, development and performance management.
- Building professional cooperation with potential early adaptors of the new technologies, while looking for funding opportunities for the development process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Engineering or 8+ years total experience in lieu of education
- 4+ years of experience in design and development
- 2+ years of experience in management of multidisciplinary product development, including defining roadmaps for product lines
- 2+ years of leading a team
- 2+ years’ experience in design and development experience in a manufacturing environment.
