As a Neurophysiologist at NuVasive Clinical Services, you’ll provide intraoperative neuromonitoring during surgery by monitoring the patient’s nervous system. The Emerging Markets Long Term Traveler Specialist role is an excellent opportunity to work in service markets throughout the U.S. while participating in various market development and support initiatives. Team members relocate approximately every 3-6 months while in this role. The commitment is 24 months, with the option to remain on the Emerging Markets team or cycle off into a market with an open position once their commitment has been met.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Consult with the surgeon regarding structures at risk and modalities to be monitored.
- Interact with the patient, when applicable, to obtain a detailed history and clearly explain the neurophysiological tests to be performed.
- Accurate placement of stimulating and recording electrodes using the 10-20 system of electrode placement
- Display and label waveforms for marking, measuring and calculating information such as latencies, amplitudes and conduction times following established guidelines and protocols
- Identify appropriate protocol and perform troubleshooting techniques to assure accurate data collection
- Communicate with the surgeon and surgical team throughout the case to relay monitoring information
- Complete all required documentation and accurately prepare all IONM logs, files, and uploads
- Maintain equipment in proper working order and conduct required maintenance checks.
- Deliver services according to Company procedures/standards.

Education and Experience
- CNIM eligibility via one pathway as defined by the ABRET website (Bachelor's degree, R. EEG. T or R. EP T. certification or a graduate of a CAAHEP or NIM IOM program) required
- Knowledge of IONM through a Collegiate or Neurodiagnostic program preferred
- OR Experience preferred
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology through collegiate coursework or professional training preferred
- Experience learning new software and technical troubleshooting preferred

Travel and/or Physical Requirements- Able to transport and set up the IONM system, laptop, and supplies in a timely fashion, which can be up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to handle the demands of relocation approximately every 3-6 months
- Ability to handle the demands of regular travel
