Electronic Security Technician

Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a part time security technician to help us meet our workflow needs. The technician will typically work two days (16 hours) or more per week. As skills and proficiency are proven, additional work will be assigned, eventually growing this to a full time position if desired. Jobs are scheduled in advance, and days can be flexible based on the technician's needs.

Required Skills:

? Solid technical skills, particularly regarding electronics and security equipment.

? Strong troubleshooting skills.

? Basic computer skills.

? Must be a self starter and able to work without supervision.

? Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

? Able to pass a background check and drug screen.

? Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

? Experience with the safe and proper use of basic hand and power tools.

? Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

? Perform all work in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and in accordance with manufacturer instructions.

? Able to climb ladders up to 20 feet in height.

? Strong Customer Service and Teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

? High School Diploma or equivalent.

? Some college or 3 or more years of experience installing and servicing commercial and residential security systems.

? Strong computer networking and basic IT skills.

? Ability to safely operate platform (scissor) and articulating lifts.

? Ability to direct others, including helpers and subcontractors.

Job Duties/Requirements:

? Install, service, and repair electronic security systems including Access Control, Video
Surveillance, Intercom, and Intrusion Alarm. This includes pulling, terminating, and testing cable, hanging equipment, and programming controllers.

? Must have own hand tools including wire strippers, screwdrivers, multimeter, pliers, and other tools needed to complete the job. We will provide you with expendables such as drill bits and saw blades and can provide power tools as needed.

? Professional dress and appearance are required. A tucked in polo shirt (you may receive company issued shirts), belt, khakis or cargo pants, and steel toed boots are the expected uniform. For specific jobs or environments the uniform requirements may change to meet safety or job conditions.

? No jewelry can be worn by technicians while on duty. We will make an exception for a wedding ring (unless the customer restricts it), but recommend you don't wear that either for safety reasons. If the technician does wear a wedding ring, they will need to wear the appropriate gloves to cover it while pulling cable or working on powered electronics.

? Other tasks as directed. We are a small company. You will get asked to perform tasks that are not in your job scope.

Pay:

You will find our pay to be very competitive. An entry level helper will make at least $13.00 per hour and an experienced lead technician could easily warrant $30.00 per hour. Your experience, knowledge, education, and attitude will be the determining factors.
