Job Description

Hours of shift will be 5am-1:45pm, 6am-2:45pm or 7am-3:45pm Monday to Friday depending on business needs. Some overtime may be required on Saturdays and after standard hours.

Primary Objective:

The Electromechanical Assembler is responsible for performing various mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies of Temposonics products to ensure the quality, reliability, productivity and timeliness of shipments


Major Areas of Accountability

1. Performs a variety of fine mechanical assembly operations in an efficient manner and is fully competent in the following areas:

  • Using basic hand tools, soldering iron fixtures and materials for the configuration requirements of the customer.
  • Meet or exceed department standards for work quality, quantity of work, and lead times.

2. Utilizes Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to procure sales order information, print production schedules and other information necessary to complete daily assembly tasks.

3. Inspect quality of goods received and inspect quality before passing on.

4. Reworks non-functional products through the line to ensure adherence to quality standards.

5. Assists and backs-up other team members as required to satisfy customer requirements and meet production deadlines.

6. Maintains good housekeeping methods to facilitate orderly and efficient, and safe operations.

7. Maintains effective communication with supervisor, peers and internal customers to improve communication,

flexibility, efficiency and customer responsiveness by:

  • Keeping supervisor and team members informed of progress and problems with products
  • Effectively communicating design and process improvement ideas and if implemented, ensure changes are

reflected in manufacturing instructions

  • Communicate concerns about scheduling and product quality, personal development, and morale

8. Demonstrates an understanding of the following:

  • Manufacturing processes
  • MTS quality system
  • MTS lean manufacturing operations such as KANBAN and 5S
  • MTS safety programs and follows accordingly

9. Knows and applies the division’s quality policy and procedures of ISO 9001 as it relates to area of responsibility and the organization. Follows all standard operating procedures as prescribed and notifies appropriate personnel of any non-conformance.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • 6 months electro-mechanical experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to thru hole solder at entry level
  • Ability to use computer scanner.
  • Ability to complete basic mechanical and electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written information to include manufacturing instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to apply written and verbal work instructions
