Job Description
Position Summary: Odyssey Systems is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Lexington, MA. The ideal candidate will support the Fabrication Engineering Group and their efforts to provide fabrication engineering and materials management for both mechanical and electronic projects using state-of-the-art technology. The group is involved from the initial design through manufacturing, assembly, integration and test, and works with program teams to ensure performance requirements, schedule, and budget are delivered to plan. The group continually investigates and procures innovative fabrication technologies to support the Laboratory efforts.Responsibilities: Duties include, but not limited to:

- Designs, develops, and tests electrical devices and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors and navigation systems, and electrical systems for automobiles and aircraft.
- Oversees the manufacturing of these devices, systems, and equipment.
- Designs new ways to use electrical power to develop or improve products.
- Performs detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
- Directs manufacturing, installing, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure that products meet specifications and codes.
- Investigates complaints from customers or the public, evaluate problems, and recommend solutions.
- Works with project managers on production efforts to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
- Designs electronic components, software, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific applications.
- Analyzes customer needs and determine electrical system requirements, capacity, and cost to develop a system plan.
- Develops maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment.
- Evaluates systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair
- Inspects electronic equipment instruments and systems to and recommend design modifications or equipment repair.
- Inspects electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations.
- Plans and develops applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.
- BS with at least five (5) years of experience in a professional setting.
- Experience as a component engineer assisting the design team on component selection
- Experience understanding CAD file formats as they relate to PCB fabrication and assembly

- This is a part time work that will average out to about 25 hrs/wk. Some weeks may be higher, some lower, but averages at 25 hours
- Position will be about 50% onsite and 50% remote.
