Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Under the general direction of the site EHS Manager, develop, implement, maintain, and communicate environmental, health and safety programs at a company Fulfillment Center.
- Conduct routine assessments of site safety and health programs, facilitating corrective measures as necessary and anticipating program needs.
- Conduct routine compliance audits, job hazard analyses and risk assessments. Provide recommendations to the site EHS Manager and site Leadership team. Incorporate solutions that consider what, why and how findings can be addressed to reduce hazards and lower risks.
- Responsible for annual site compliance and company best management practice (BMP) safety training topics with targeted site teams including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout-authorized, Confined Space, Hot Work, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Fulfillment Safety, HAZWOPER, Regulated Waste Management and site leadership safety training and on-boarding. Ensures adequate tracking of attendees.
- Primary facilitator for all new hire safety orientation training.
- Responsible for industrial hygiene tasks such as but not limited to particulate sampling, noise mapping/dosimetry, and indoor air quality measurements based on site identified issues or broader company EHS recommendations.
- Completes routine ergonomic observations and task assessments.
- Tracks and manages site leading safety indicators including but not limited to weekly safety communications and site safety audits. Reports weekly results to site EHS Manager and site Leadership team.
- Assists the site EHS Manager with the site safety recognition program. The primary focus on team member engagement.
- Assists the site EHS Manager with the Sr. Leadership safety committee.
- Leads the site EHS Solutions Group in collaboration with assigned site Leadership team members. Provides guidance to the site EHS Solutions Leaders and facilitates the process of team member involvement in the site safety program.
- Manages the weekly/monthly regulated waste program requirements including but not limited to weekly waste storage inspections, manifest retention requirements and general housekeeping of waste storage areas. Works with a 3rd party vendor for scheduling and disposal/destruction expectations where applicable.
- Provide guidance to site regarding incident report and accident investigation processes, reports OSHA injury/illness recording practices and maintains OSHA 300 reporting logs.
- Prepares and facilitates the weekly review of site incidents and tracks action items resulting from the review.
Critical Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge in environmental and occupational safety and health regulations.
- Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills in both technical and non-technical terms.
- Excellent facilitation skills, ability to collaborate effectively with company personnel at all levels.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining deadlines.
- Excellent working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint required).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety Science or similar degree is preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 1-4 years previous experience working in an industrial environment and a solid background in Safety program administration.
- Ability to foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and company culture.
- Ability to travel overnight.
- Ability to work split shift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
