GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Partner with HRL EH&S staff and Project Managers to ensure workers at construction activities are working in a safe environment and are following all correct safety procedures to protect contractors, HRL employees and comply with regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Contractor safety program administration, project manager interfacing, internal communication, incident investigation and corrective action management, assisting with development and delivery of training programs, performing field audits of construction activities, preparing and submitting safety reports, providing guidance to HRL staff companywide and responding to requests for health & safety support. The primary job is to help ensure safe construction work however may take on additional health and safety roles and responsibilities to support the overall HRL safety program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years of knowledge of construction site health & safety programs and regulatory requirements which may include asbestos abatement, lockout/tag out, crane safety, confined space, electrical safety, power operated vehicles, trenching and shoring etc. The ideal candidate will bring experience and familiarity with construction site health & safety and a strong knowledge of state and federal regulations. The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter, be organized and detail oriented, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with others.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Tasks may require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work. Some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.

EDUCATION DESIRED:
Preferred - An academic background in health & safety, industrial hygiene or a related field. Direct applicable experience in lieu of a formal education will be considered. Operational knowledge of general industry and construction activities

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: May involve site visits to other southern CA locations which may include Camarillo, Agoura and/or Calabasas
