EGG SUPERVISOR - HATCHERY

• Primary Function:

*Supervises and coordinates the total maintenance, clean-up and sanitation of the

hatchery building and equipment, total hatching process, chick delivery, egg handling

and sets, record keeping, and all hatchery personnel.

*Performs administrative duties preparing and maintaining records and writing reports in

the areas of maintenance and sanitation, chick delivery, egg handling and sets, hatchery

personnel, and total hatching process.

II. Major Responsibilities:

*Prepares work schedule, set priorities and assigns, supervises and coordinates work of

maintenance, security, transfer, clean-up personnel, egg and chick drivers and hatching

personnel.

*Inventorying, receiving and storing hatchery items.

*Examines and approves time cards.

*Checks work progress on scheduled jobs and makes needed corrections.

*Monitors Hatchery throughout the day.

*Manages the learning experience of maintenance, security, clean-up personnel, and egg

and chick drivers to continually improve their knowledge and skills.

*Supervises maintenance and upkeep of all maintenance equipment and tools.

*Supervises grounds upkeep.

*Coordinates egg pick-up to insure correct traying of eggs.

*Orders all supplies under direction of Hatchery Superintendent.

*Conducts necessary hatchery training and safety meetings for hatchery personnel.

*Performs other duties as required.

*Reports to the Hatchery Superintendent who provides general supervision and policy

guidance concerning priorities, as well as specific assignments.

*Maintains close working relationship with all Hatchery Supervisors, other

departments, other hatcheries, vendors and government agencies.
