The University of Florida’s Kenneth C. Griffin CS for All Education Initiative seeks a full-time Education Training Specialist II to support the development of programs and resources in K-12 computer science teacher preparation. This Education Training Specialist II will work closely with Dr. Maya Israel and other project personnel in the development, organization and dissemination of programs and activities in support of building a sustainable teacher preparation program in computer science education at the University of Florida and throughout the state of Florida.
Responsibilities include:
- Development of curricular resources for integrating computer science into teacher preparation courses
- Attend periodic meetings at locations throughout the state in support of program development and dissemination
- Produce and curate content for the online PLC (personal learning community)
- Assist in the development of computer science education certification exam preparation materials
- Create Teacher professional development (PD) materials
- Provide training for Teacher PD (both in person and through webinars as identified to meet the requirements of pre-service and novice CS professionals)
- Collaborate with faculty around CS integration across disciplines within the COE.
- Participate in dissemination efforts to include such as conference presentations, newsletters, and social media outreach
Expected Salary:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a valid FL driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in educational technology, computer science education, or similar field.
- At least five years of K-12 computer science teaching experience
- Experience with K-12 computer science teacher preparation or professional development
