The Economic Services Administration, Division of Child Support (DCS), is currently seeking a Support Enforcement Technician to join the team at our office located in Spokane.

In this role, you will use your knowledge and independent judgment to provide services to our clients. Join us today on our mission to Transform Lives!

Some of what you'll do:

  • Provide in-person customer service to a diverse set of stakeholders including clients or customers, co-workers, other agencies and the general public
  • Discuss rights and benefits with applicants and service recipients
  • Accept and receive over-the-counter payments and mail
  • Perform case set-up functions for child support and medical enforcement cases
  • Process special case set-up requests from Support Enforcement Officers
  • Access various databases to determine the need for paternity establishment activities and update paternity coding on cases accordingly

What we're looking for:
  • Ability to multitask and work through interruptions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient with computers, ability to learn and navigate new programs
  • Ability to defuse emotionally charged situations and redirect the conversation to resolution


Who should apply?

Those with at least 2 years of college education and/or AA degree
OR
At least 2 years of experience in one or a combination of the following: collection of debts, determining financial eligibility for programs or services, professional experience in law enforcement, investigational adjustment of claims or finance, providing assistance to client/customers regarding inquiries, complaints or problems
OR
Two years of experience in a child support office
