POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a non-professional position entailing the transporting of residents and staff and the operation and first line maintenance of the facility's motor vehicles. The Motor Vehicle Operator/Program Aide is also involved in providing escort service, direct care and program assistance to developmentally disabled individuals. A person in this position reports to the Transportation Coordinator. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Escort residents to and from schedule program classes.
- Transport residents and staff to various community locations, i.e., medical appointments, hospitals, school, shopping areas, job sites and day programs.
- Evaluates vehicles on their performance and prepare reports on any malfunctions.
- Cleaning of vehicles interior and exterior
- Maintain trip logs on a daily basis
- Insures safe transportation, i.e., secures wheelchairs and residents in vehicles and supervises during transport, loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Assists the residents with actives of daily living; such as toileting, eating and other personal hygiene.
