Job Description

JOB: Dog care specialist, $11.50/hour

REPORTS TO : Kennel manager and Rover Stay Over owners.

HOURS/SCHEDULE:

  • This is not a seasonal short-term job . Applicants must be dog lovers who want to be part of our team for an extended period of time.
  • Sorry, we do not have any openings for internships, or after-school-only schedules. Applicants should have a flexible schedule.
  • Our busiest times are during holidays while the rest of the world is on vacation or spending time with their families. Rover employees will be required to work shifts during major holidays including 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Summary :

As a dog care specialist at Rover Stay Over, you’ll help ensure all canine companions who stay here are safe and happy. You’ll guide outdoor exercise activities, clean kennels and maintain outdoor play yards at our rural dog resort. You’ll also provide top-notch, friendly service to our customers while checking pets in and out of the facility. Rover dog care specialists may also help our in-house groomers with a variety of tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school diploma, experience working or volunteering in a vet clinic, doggy daycare or boarding facility desired; vet technician students are encouraged to apply.
  • Must have a true affection for all kinds of dogs including puppies, elderly and ill/injured.
  • A positive, friendly, can-do attitude is required. You must be able to work together as a team with fellow dog care specialists, groomers and management.
  • Weekend availability and a somewhat flexible schedule that will accommodate the growing needs of our growing business.
  • Reliability – as a small business we count on you to be here on your scheduled days. You must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently, multi-task, and change gears quickly.
