Document Control Specialist

Under general direction, the Document Control Specialist manages the Engineering change system, Engineering documentation, and other key Engineering processes. The document control specialist works closely with Project Management, Engineering and other cross-functional departments. Researches and makes recommendations for appropriate process improvements as required for the key Engineering processes. Develops and presents training sessions on key Engineering processes.

Location: Arlington, Heights. IL

Your Challenge:

  • Supports the Engineering team in all phases of the Engineering documentation by ensuring the correct information is prepared in Engineering Changes, Engineering Project data, prototype requests, Customer Requests, technical publications and other various documentation.
  • Coordinates the interaction between engineering, manufacturing, field operations, program management and marketing to ensure appropriate changes are documented and provide direction for the development of data.
  • Ensures and verifies required data complies with contract specifications and internal company policies and procedures.
  • Researches and makes recommendations for appropriate process improvements related to the Engineering Documentation System.
  • Implement, distribute, and manage various templates, processes, routings, etc. and the ability to support internal and external audits with correct and accurate documentation.
  • Interface and liaison with engineering CAD support as necessary.

Your Expertise:

  • Associate Degree.
  • MS Office, skilled in reading technical drawings and documents, and deep understanding of operational environment, processes, and procedures
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar field.
  • Preferred candidate has working knowledge in the following software or similar software:
  • Solidworks CAD modeling
  • Agile database
  • Infor CSI/Syteline ERP
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T a plus
