Dockhand
Position Summary
The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team in order to serve marina customers and guests by performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to general operation of the docks and assisting boaters. The Dockhand must work to maintain a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide SHM members with the best experience possible
- Greet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional character
- Help orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questions
- Assist customers with general boating needs
- Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management
- Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times
- Comply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and adhere to all site rules and expectations
- Availability to work overtime when required
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
Technical and Physical Requirements
- Ability to work safely around the water
- Must be able to swim
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- Basic boat handling skills preferred
- Previous marina experience preferred
- Previous customer service experience preferred

- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and an understanding of customers’ needs
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills while working both independently and within a team context
