Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The position can be located in the following locations: Atlanta, GA; Tampa, FL; Orlando, FL; Miami, FL

The District Sales Manager (DSM) reports directly to the Regional Vice President, Sales (RVP) with primary responsibility of achieving the sales budget for the district. The DSM will be responsible for supporting a high-performance sales team within the district and acting as a liaison for all key corporate support within the district to ensure the near- and long-term profitable sales goals of the company are met. The DSM will collaborate with other departments, especially Sales Operations, Marketing/Med Ed and Customer Service.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for achievement of the sales budget for the district
  • Manages all activities while adhering to the district expense budget
  • Case coverage as needed to include providing verbal technical assistance to surgeon and OR personnel, including surgeons first case
  • Responsible for ensuring the appropriate level of distributor engagement and support to build a robust and sustained customer pipeline (attendance of surgeon webinars, qualified surgeon lab attendees, etc.)
  • Provides training for distributor sales teams in the district (includes technical product, our sales process, and selling skills)
  • Collaborates with Distributors, Sales Operations, and appropriate Hospital personnel to timely approval of our products at facilities
  • Provides updates to on a timely basis relative to account approval timelines so an accurate national facility approval pipeline is maintained
  • Responsible for organizing sales or technical training meetings within the district
  • Attends society meetings as needed
  • Delivers a monthly field forecast to Sales Operations (2-month horizon) by Distributor and for the district
  • Responsible for ensuring the appropriate level of distributor and W2 support in building a robust and sustained customer pipeline (attendance of surgeon webinars, qualified surgeon lab attendees, etc.)
  • Assists in hiring, performance management and conversion of reps (1099 to W2) when necessary
  • Conduct annual performance reviews in conjunction with and approval of the Regional Vice President

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be willing and able to complete and maintain hospital credentialing requirements (Reptrax, Vendormate, etc.)
  • Must be willing and able to technically support surgical cases with our products
  • Must have the ability to foster positive relationships with surgeons, key hospital personnel and the sales team
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%
  • Must be a self-starter and have a “can do” attitude
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and exert influence without alienating others
  • Must be a self-starter and have a proactive, “can do” attitude
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required
  • Must be a team player, one who puts “what is best for the business” ahead of individual agendas
  • Must be willing to work to accomplish common corporate goals

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Five (5) years of sales experience in orthopedic medical device (foot and ankle preferred). Sales coaching and development experience required. Travel up to 25%.

This job operates in a home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
