Johnson & Johnson Vision is recruiting for a District Business Manager – Ocular Surface – East.
The District Business Manager is responsible for the managing and evaluating the sales of the organization's products/programs in an assigned geographical area. The DBM supervises the sales force, ensuring proper levels of support are maintained with related customers and/or organizations. They represent the organization by maintaining contact with major accounts/channels within jurisdiction, and apply a broad knowledge of the organization's products, services, and marketing techniques. They are responsible for fostering a motivating team environment focused on success, development, and accountability.
The District Business Manager:
- Supervises, evaluates, and develops Ocular Surface Sales Specialists and Ocular Surface Account Executives within their assigned area, providing advice, counseling, performance management, and guidance.
- Has the ability to coach and develop Ocular Surface Sales Specialists and Ocular Surface Account Executives on delivering a competitive, clinical, and financial message tailored to meet customer needs.
- Prepares and reviews regular sales reports reflecting area activities and translates them into meaningful direction to the team. Participates in the determination of area market potential, and in the preparation of district sales expense estimates.
- Engages and influences major accounts as well as channels in assigned area.
- Participates and drives the recruitment, both scheduled and proactive, selection, training and development of Ocular Surface Sales Specialists and Ocular Surface Account Executives.
- Has responsibility for Fleet Safety training as to the proper maintenance of the organization's cars and equipment within assigned area.
- Is aware and manages the current Health Care Compliance expectations and direction.
- Is responsible for leading the Ocular Surface Sales Specialists and Ocular Surface Account Executives within their assigned area on the rollout of new products and initiatives, resource allocation and budget management.
- Has the ability to manage complexity and translate into action.
- Collaborates across the field sales organization as well as cross functionally within the Home Office.
- Is responsible for developing a new market and managing high growth expectations.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree required
- Eight or more years of outside professional sales experience, business-to-business and/or medical sales experience strongly preferred.
- Three or more years of frontline sales management preferred
- Previous experience in new market development and high growth business opportunities is preferred.
- Experience managing long sales cycles, such as capital equipment strongly preferred
- Experience or training in sales management is preferred
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of sales applications and principles is required.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, business acumen, managing conflict, written and oral communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license issued in one of the 50 states and a clean driving record.
- Must to able to travel as needed, which may include 50% - 60% overnight and/or weekend travel is required.
