Position Details:
The district 4-H youth development program specialist will (1) provide leadership and support to county 4-H staff in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating 4-H Youth Development programs in the assigned district to ensure the quality of county and district 4-H programs; (2) provide professional development for county 4-H staff in the district; (3) serve on statewide activities for 4-H program/curriculum areas as designated; and (4) develop and implement a statewide 4-H program that complements current programs at the state and district levels.
The 4-H District Program Specialist is a member of the assigned district under the supervision of the District Extension Director who will receive performance related input from the Assistant Director/State 4-H Program Leader.
The 4-H District Program Specialist is also a member of the state 4-H team for program development. Programmatic leadership efforts are under the direction of the Assistant Director/State 4-H Program Leader and done in cooperation with other state 4-H faculty/staff.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
This position will require the incumbent to have documented proof of full Covid-19 vaccination status or an approved accommodation through the OSU Office of Equal Opportunity upon hire.
Required:
Master's degree
A Degree in Youth Development is preferred. Degrees in other disciplines such as Agriculture and Family and Consumer Sciences will be considered for candidates with professional 4-H Youth Development experience.
Five or more years of successful professional work experience with a minimum of three years of Cooperative Extension work. Additional consideration will be given to experience, training, and educational background in youth-related work.
Proven leadership and program development experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to relate effectively with county staff and lay leaders.
Demonstrated organizational development and management skills; knowledge of and the ability to utilize electronic communications and computer technology skills for communication and program management.
Willingness to work within a flexible time frame which includes evenings and weekends and be willing to travel throughout the district and state.
Valid Drivers License
