Job Description

Markets Analyst on the US Distressed Credit Trading desk, responsible for identifying and analyzing stressed, distressed and special situation credits:

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting in-depth fundamental industry and company specific analysis
  • Performing qualitative and quantitative business and financial analysis; including assessment of corporate liquidity, unit economics and recovery for different tranches of the capital structure
  • Creating and maintaining detailed financial models
  • Reviewing and assessing key legal documents including credit agreements, indentures and bankruptcy filings
  • Preparing written credit analysis that can be used to identify and evaluate investment opportunities/recommendations to drive desk PnL
  • Developing and communicating investible ideas that can be communicated to clients and sales/trading teams
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in a related role
  • Exceptional analytical competency
  • Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills that can develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and pitch situations and determine suitable counterparties
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, other risk analysis tools
  • Attention to Detail and Accuracy
  • Proven ability to manage to deadlines

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Appropriate Licenses
