We are looking for a Distinguished Engineer to join our personalization technology team. Here you will Innovate, design and build technology components that will power rich personalized experiences for our customers across all channels. You will lead the technology personalization squad and champion technical and architecture blueprint to achieve omnichannel personalization at scale. Lead and mentor other Engineers in the team to build a personalization technology ecosystem that can support customers across all geographies with quality and resiliency.

Scope/Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with your partners in business and product to understand the personalization vision and customer experience.
  • Use your technology experience and understanding of business goals to build the foundation that can support omnichannel personalization at scale.
  • Evaluate build vs buy solutions, recommend and implement them based on industry best practices.
  • Partner closely with product managers and business to build a personalization technology product/capability roadmap and backlog considering short and long-term needs.
  • Drive design of all major technology components and systems within the personalization squad and cross teams
  • Drive personalization squad technology priorities and deadlines working with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, machine learning engineers, software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists responsible for personalization services and experiences.
  • Simplify various needs such as business capability, operational efficiency, security and privacy considerations into architecture and system design.
  • Be a source of support that ensures successful product delivery as well as operational excellence in production
  • Articulate and promote technology strategy and design within various engineering and architecture teams.
  • Drive large scale business adoption of the personalization capabilities through education and partnership
  • Mentor and act as a role model for your team members in areas such as efficient design techniques to build and deploy technology components that can scale and is resilient.
  • Help attract, recruit and retain technology talent and be a key player in building a strong team, with high quality output and a culture of innovation.
  • Showcase technology personalization capabilities in meetings, internal tech talks, presentations to Sr. Leadership
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
  • 15+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering developing full stack software solutions.
  • 10+ years’ experience in implementing open source Ecommerce solutions and Customer Experiences preferably for retail.
  • 3+ years’ experience building MarTech, AdTech, Onsite search, E-mail, Big Data platforms and products.
  • Must have experience in data management (customer and product), content management, micro-services architecture, cloud technologies, Machine learning & data science techniques as well as SRE/DevOps practices.
  • Experience in developing End to End technical Architecture of very large-scale applications.
  • Proven experience of successfully delivering sizable projects that spans across multiple distributed teams, geographies and multiple years that produce significant business results and success
  • Excellent collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills with ability to facilitate technology strategy, requirements and architecture conversations with all partners (management, business, users, and technology resources)
  • Demonstrated track record of leading within sophisticated organizations requiring strong influence leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively at all levels in matrix environment
  • Experience with technical team mentorship, including guiding other engineers to become more effective technical leaders and providing feedback on best practices in code and design
  • Demonstrated ability to drive co-innovation with vendor partners
