The FCR Consumer Analytics team is responsible for developing a structured framework and strategy to support and complement FCR Consumer Credit Review activities through analytical insights into various stages of consumer credit management. The primary objective of this framework and execution strategy is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of various credit review processes using both standardized and customized analytics.
The Head of GRR Data Engineering position reports to the Head of GRR Analytics and supports the execution and delivery of the above mandate in close coordination with the FCR Consumer Region Heads and Lead Reviewers.
Global Risk Review (GRR) provides independent, objective, reliable, valued, and timely assurance to the Boards of Directors of Citigroup and Citibank, the Risk Management Committees, the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer, the Citigroup Chief Credit Officer, senior management, and regulators over the effectiveness of credit, capital and collateral risk management and the ability of the Business and Independent Risk to identify, monitor, and mitigate current and emerging credit risks across Citigroup and Citibank. Within GRR, the Fundamental Credit Risk (FCR) function provides an independent review and challenge of credit risk management.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain overall framework and set of execution strategies to support and/or complement review activities and enhance remote review capabilities
Responsible for data extraction and quality control for raw data feeds, model input and output data to support the analytics for FCR Consumer Business Monitoring (BM) activities
Develop capabilities for efficient data extraction from global data repositories and establish data analysis procedures (including alternate data sources, and protocols for entities with data transfer restrictions).
Productionize standardized metrics and reports – FCR Consumer dashboards, Portfolio Tables (P-Tables), Portfolio Quality Assessment Tool (PQAT), etc.
Develop data harvesting and ingestion strategies to support a library of standard analytics/reports available to the Lead Reviewers for the continuous assessment of portfolio quality. Optimize and maintain the reports.
Management of Data Extraction, Variable Creation and Reconciliation: (a) Manage the data extraction process from Enterprise data repositories (e.g. Genesis retail container) and Entity data warehouses, (b) Establish the connection between the FCR libraries and the Enterprise and Entity data warehouses for the timely transfer of data for the Review activities, (c) Manage data extraction process from various sources of aggregated data – Portfolio Management Categorization System (PMACS), Basel Risk, Loss mitigation, Citi Risk Insights, etc., (d) Manage data quality checks and reasonability checks, (e) Combine data from various sources, reconcile, and feature engineering (create derived variables), (f) Coordinate with the FCR Head of Consumer Analytics regarding data and feature needs to introduce new/updated metrics in the dashboards.
- GRR Data Technology Support: Provide technical support/guidance to the wider GRR teams (e.g. GRR Analyst team, etc.) regarding data access and data extraction for various data sources.
- Management of Analytics Tools: (a) Ensure monthly/quarterly update of the FCR Consumer dashboard(s), (b) Optimize the dashboard refresh for quicker and more automated updates, (c) Manage the transfer the local design version of the dashboard to the server production platform, (d) Manage version control, archiving, backup, crash recovery, etc. of the various dashboards, (e) Manage consistency of information across different dashboards, address and resolve inconsistencies, (f) User training, user access issue resolution, address visualization anomalies, facilitate report extraction from the dashboard(s) for various management reports and external agencies, etc., (g) Coordinate with the FCR Head of Consumer Analytics for incorporating new/updated metrics in the dashboards with existing data
- Participate as required in the validation of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), including the development of ad hoc analysis to verify sustainable resolution of Issues.
- Collaborate, partner and leverage other analytical units across the Global Consumer Risk community to stay abreast of recent developments in credit and financial data, and analytical techniques, data visualization across the firm.
- Participate in analytical projects and/or reviews as needed by GRR senior management.
- Proactive communication to GRR senior management of any concerns and/or emerging risks in respect of Review Entities.
- Travel required (5% - 15%)
Knowledge/Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in various data repository structures, data extraction methods, data harvesting and retrieving, data visualization and discovery.
- Hands-on experience with one or more data visualization software, e.g. Tableau, Arcadia, etc.
- Experience with analytical/statistical tools – SAS, SQL, Knowledge Studio, Python, Machine Learning, etc. will be a plus
- Experience with Big Data, Deep learning, etc. will be a plus
- Experience in risk management, credit policy/strategy in financial services
- Experience with different consumer/retail lending products and different geographies will be a plus
Skills/Competencies:
- Good business acumen and strong analytical skills with hands on experience driving consumer credit strategy and/or the ability to connect analytics with business decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management and to external audiences
- Detailed-oriented, high level of intellectual curiosity and strong sense of ownership.
- Demonstrated project management skills, and ability to multi-task effectively and work against tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and exert influence without direct authority
- Familiarity with Citi consumer credit policies and FCR processes will be a plus.
Qualifications:
- Master’s in Software engineering, Data engineering, Computer Science, or other data management & data visualization disciplines
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in above disciplines with 15+ years of experience will be considered (in lieu of Masters with 10+ years of experience)
