WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We need a Director of Portfolio Management to join the DSM team. Candidates that can help coordination and oversight across the portfolio of DSM products and initiatives in service of achieving important business value are ideal. They will have a seat on the DSM Product Management Leadership Team as we build the future of planning and optimization at Nike. They will shape, influence and help implement a product strategy and vision for the future of the company’s planning and optimization solutions.

In this role, we are looking for someone with a wealth of strategy and portfolio management experience to collaborate with leaders across DSM, as well as partner functions impacted by DSM transformational changes. They will manage the portfolio roadmap that emphasizes collective readiness and effective, coordinated activation. They will establish standards for portfolio management and execution, mechanisms to monitor the planning, execution and performance of MVP’s and Product scaling, enable collective DSM LT decision making, and coordinate with the transition management lead to manage change across the portfolio so that outcomes and benefits realization targets are met.

The ideal candidate will help drive the DSM Product team through their experience in digital product management, analytics, and retail brand merchandising, planning, allocation replenishment, pricing, and operations. They will help build innovative technical and analytic products for planners to advise and optimize in-season planning decisions.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work both within the Nike DSM function, and across the broader organization including partnering closely with Nike Direct, Commercial Analytics, Technology, and Supply Chain teams to deliver solutions that solve critical business problems as Nike accelerates its Consumer Direct strategies.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will work closely with DSM leadership, business partners, and Technology and Analytics counterparts to define and coordinate the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for our DSM portfolio of products. Specifically:

  • Product Strategy and Vision: Coordinate across the DSM Portfolio a data-driven and market-informed product vision and strategy that supports Nike strategies. Identify the strategic product implications and opportunities resulting from major corporate strategies and change initiatives.
  • DSM Portfolio Product Roadmap: Serve as the connection point across the fluid intake and prioritization process as we develop a product, feature and release roadmap based on business targets, in-depth data analysis, and a clear understanding of DSM needs.
  • Prioritization: Set framework for portfolio prioritization for product roadmaps and project plans based on priorities, setting clear/measurable objectives and deploying team resources appropriately to achieve business goals.
  • Resource Coordination: Develop decision frameworks to inform resource allocation, program evaluation and portfolio shifts; Facilitate discussions with cross-functional teams to gain alignment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to bring products to life. Remove obstacles and helps align the organization to achieve success. Own the messaging and content preparation for DSM PM executive forums and workshops.
  • Communication: Clearly articulate the product roadmap, vision, priorities and requirements to multiple stakeholders in both written and oral formats. Gather and incorporate feedback from a diverse range of partners including digital, technology, engineering, analytics, platform, business, and legal teams.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Technology, Engineering, Design, Analytics, Business, and Product Management leaders throughout completion of milestones to deliver optimal results in line with customer needs.
  • Industry Analysis: Continuously monitor and share relevant technology trends, competitive offerings and best-of-breed executions to help inform Portfolio Product Strategy
  • Leadership and Influence: Lead multidisciplinary teams and enable success by removing obstacles and developing strategic relationships throughout the business. Cultivate and develop diverse talent within direct reporting team to improve performance and results.
  • Promote cross-team and cross-organizational knowledge sharing through multiple forums (e.g., user groups, tech talks, demos).

WHAT YOU BRING
  • BA/BS degree required; strategy consulting experience a plus
  • 5 to 10 years of consulting, portfolio, or program management experience in a corporate environment, focused on large-scale transformational change
  • Strong project management skills and ability to present work to executive partners
  • Familiarity with the Agile development approach
  • Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining keen attention to detail
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • Ability to comprehend business needs, synthesize technical and specialized knowledge and translate them into a cohesive strategy
  • Tolerance for ambiguity, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to work well with a large variety of personalities at all levels of business
  • Comprehensive understanding of the market landscape, both through a technology and competitor lens
  • Knowledge of digital and physical retail planning, merchandising, allocation, and operational processes a plus
