Ravix Group, the preeminent accounting and finance outsource consulting firm in Silicon Valley, is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 to 10 years of technical accounting experience with corporate reporting and accounting issues related primarily to technology, life science and software / internet companies.
In this position, you would typically work with and supervise other professionals on projects, address financial reporting preparation, research and understand technical accounting issues, prepare complex calculations for early to middle market companies, implement appropriate processes and controls, and work with the external auditors of client companies as a liaison and prepare necessary documentation. Specific financial tasks will be determined by the client and may vary from client to client. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate.
Depending on the engagement, job responsibilities may include:
· External SEC reporting
· Assistance with preparation of books and records for Form S-1 filings
· Preparation of financial statements and footnotes
· Annual audit preparation and management
· Preparation of stock compensation expense model
· Revenue recognition research and implementation of revenue policies
· Determination of accounting for various types of derivatives
· Participation in larger working groups with external consultants, auditors, underwriters, attorneys and executive management to complete financing transactions
· Supervision of an engagement team to accomplish these objectives in accordance with an approved budget
· Working closely with executive management of the company
· Providing monthly reports to the Board of Directors of the company
· Teaching team members how to address technical and reporting issues
Qualifications:
· CPA with Big 4 accounting experience – at least to the manager level
· SEC annual and quarterly financial reporting and Form S-1 preparation
· Supervision of the filing and preparation process for an IPO
· Intermediate to advanced computer skills in MS Office
· Ability to build solid working relationships with a wide variety of clients, their employees and vendors
· Excellent follow-up and problem solving skills
· High level of integrity
· Strong organizational and self-management skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Supervision of team members to accomplish specific objectives
· Self-directed and driven, with a good sense of humor
· Comfortable working in and adapting to changing environments
· Proficient at selling oneself and professional services
