Position overview :
The Director of Staff Wellness Program is responsible for the overall development, management, and administration of a corporate-wide wellness program offered to 10,000+ employees across 11 regions and 5 states. The Director of Staff Wellness Program will create and monitor programs intended to improve the physical, mental, and financial health of our staff and their families by using preventive tools that provide measurable results. Additionally, the DSWP is responsible for assessing the health of our staff population, evaluating supporting data such as claims/loss ratios, absenteeism, worker’s comp claims, and or FMLA to create a targeted program that supports the well-being of our staff and, in turn, reducing premium increases to our medical plans. The DSWP will be responsible for educating employees on financial health and establishing partnerships that support employees to and through retirement. The DSWP will be responsible for executing employee resource groups to provide employees with affinity spaces that are confidential but feel inclusive and supportive to staff across all regions and states.
This is a full-time remote/on-site position based in Texas/Louisiana/Florida/Arkansas/Ohio with preference given to candidates who live in Texas or who are willing to relocate. Travel is required. We are looking to fill this role by July 1, 2022. The Director of Staff Wellness Program will be part of the Benefits Team which supports the organization on a national level and will manage two direct reports.
Compensation & Benefits : Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $73,955 and $90,225, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.

In this role you will:
- Design, recommend and implement new benefits programs that support the overall health of staff including mental, behavioral, physical, and financial.
- Leads a comprehensive wellness program.
- Coordinates, plans, and facilitates health and fitness activities and programs for employees including establishing employee resource groups in support of mental/behavioral health, regional health fairs, and participating in regional annual 5Ks.
- Plans and implements classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote healthy lifestyles.
- Develops promotion and publicity plans for wellness and fitness programs throughout the organization.
- Compiles statistical summaries of participant data, class attendance, and equipment inventories to ensure proper detailed program evaluation.
- Assists the managing director in the development of budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program.
- Provides educational presentations and training programs.
- Review both short- and long-range cost estimates/projections and relevant statistical analyses regarding modifications in benefits programs and implementation of new programs.
- Survey industry trends. Complete benefits surveys and review information obtained from the results. Analyze complex benefits information. Forecast trends and assist with future benefits designs. Develop specific recommendations for review by management.
- Administrates the Emergency Relief Fund.
- Develops an annual wellness guide geared towards educating employees on availability of resources and how-to-guides
- Conducts employee surveys, focus groups, and gathers feedback about program for continuous improvement.
- Manage the work of two direct reports.
- Focuses on financial education and sharing out resources to staff by showcasing in such a way that promotes both retention and recruitment.
Required e xperience :
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field, and three to five years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations preferred
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, experience with Employee Information Systems, Enrollment Platforms, and other benefits databases.
- Strong excel knowledge and skills.
- Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
- Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
- Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on proposals (RFPs).
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, and COBRA.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.

- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
