Overview

:

USAP is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and strategic leader who guides all aspects of the Scheduling Team in alignment with the Vision, Goals and Strategy of the USAP North Texas (Dallas Fort Worth Area) practice. This individual will be tasked with analyzing the overall performance and efficiency of the Scheduling Team to provide recommendations to the Operations team and the Clinical Governance Board (CGB) for continuous improvement. The Scheduling Director is responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with all referral sources including Hospital and ASC Operating Room scheduling teams to support facility scheduling needs and Health System coverage commitments.

Job Highlights

:

The Director will also have responsibility for leadership and oversight of two Scheduling Team Leads who will manage a growing team of approximately twenty-five schedulers.

  • Leads and directs all Scheduling Team functions including, but not limited to:
  • Oversight of Scheduling Team Leads.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training processes.
  • Ensures that performance standards are well defined and achieved.
  • Evaluates employee performance and provides appropriate guidance, professional development, and constructive feedback.
  • Initiates disciplinary proceedings as required.
  • Schedules, assigns, and monitors staff assignments to promote efficiency and to ensure that adequate coverage is maintained.
  • Ensures that all case schedules are completed in accordance with established standards.
  • Provides exceptional leadership and strives to exceed operational and team goals.
  • Identifies opportunities for team improvement and innovation, removes barriers and resistance to change and promotes constructive teamwork and communication.
  • Partners with operational leadership to develop new strategies and approaches for optimizing scheduling with hospital and ASC facilities.
  • Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment through team building, consistent accountability, and clear communication of work standards.
  • Provides consistent coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Effectively and proactively manages relationships with Clinicians (MDs, CRNS, AAs, etc.).
  • Routinely presents data relative to the performance of the Scheduling Team to the Operations Team, Finance Team, and CGB.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):


  • Logistical knowledge of surgical case scheduling, general physician practice and hospital OR workflow.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a multitude of audiences including physicians, senior leadership, hospitals, physician offices, patients, and support staff.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Exhibits a strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess a pleasant disposition and open to diversity.
  • Ability to analyze operational systems and make appropriate recommendations to optimize efficiency.
  • Excellent knowledge of Medical terminology and spelling.
  • Advanced computer skills and ability to train others on system usage, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Qualifications

:
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Masters or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with surgical case scheduling a plus but not required.
  • Eight years of progressive leadership and supervisory experience.
