Job Description

Position Title:

Director of Operations

Purpose

Responsible for directing and coordinating manufacturing facility operations in support of the company’s growth, as well as formulating policies and strategic plans for future growth. This position will directly manage or oversee daily operations of manufacturing facility production, equipment vetting/purchasing, warehouse, personnel, quality, administration and make sure products get shipped out on time and accurately.

II.

Duties

1. Establishes priorities with Maud Borup Inc. operation consistent with production needs and timing. Formulates necessary controls, procedures, and operating plans to attain maximum efficiency and productivity.

2. Manages facility manufacturing team which includes HR/Facility, Production Manager, In-Bound Logistics Manager, QA Manager, Production Floor Lead, Maintenance Manager, Office Manager, Warehouse Manager and all production assemblers and equipment operators.

3. Reports to VP of Operations.

4. Strives to achieve food packaging safety and quality objectives by working with suppliers to ensure high quality standards are implemented, maintained and effective.

5. Is familiar with and complies with SQF, USDA, FDA, HACCP, food safety standards and ensures all product produced meets assigned quality standards and works closely with our Quality Manager.

6. Serves as Business Continuity Plan team leader responsibility for maintaining, implementing, and carrying out the BCP in the event that a crisis occurs.

7. Establishes effective coordination and communication of production schedule to reach 100% on-time, complete deliveries. Will work with facility HR Manager and Production Manager to ensure the right people are in place and that the timing works to accomplish all production goals.

8. Initiates the appropriate procedures and controls to assure a consistently high-quality product, which meets specifications and customer requirements, as well as meeting company established goals.

9. Source and maintain technological knowledge of advancements in production processes and competitively source new equipment that will increase efficiency, increase the bottom line, free up workers and production time or also make QA stronger or more cost efficient.

10. Reports cost accounting information in relation to manufacturing facility to management personnel. May be upon request or special project analysis or as a matter of something discovered that is pertinent and important to advise on that effects our bottom line or manufacturing operations.

11. Acts as a liaison between the company, government and external accounts to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes for our manufacturing facility.

12. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and communicating accomplishments effectively.

13. Budgeting of manufacturing facility.

14. Work with HR and senior management to attract, maintain and motivate manufacturing facility staff.

15. Manufacturing project financial analysis.

16. Special Projects directed from the President or VP of Operations and wherever additional support or help is needed.

17. Overall factory production management and Facilities Management.

18. Weekly Factory Meeting to maintain production and personnel feedback and information from the management team and set goals/timelines to accomplish tasks buy assigning the right people to the right tasks.

19. Travels to company headquarters every 1st Monday of the month to participate in the monthly executive management meetings with Director of Marketing, Director of Sales, Finance Director, VP of Operations and President. Will prepare “to do’s” to discuss at the meeting.

Knowledge

1.

Requirements

· 4 year degree in Business/Accounting or Manufacturing Engineering and 10 year’s experience in related field.

· Advanced knowledge of manufacturing techniques.

· Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and time management aptitude

· Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal) for interaction with customers, vendors, legal consultants and co-workers.

· Goal oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines related to detailed and complex situations.

· Strong computer skills, with proficiency in spreadsheet applications and software applications.

· Excellent math skills.

· Working knowledge of SQF Food Safety and quality requirements and continuous improvement methods.

· Able to travel as required in performance of job.

· Working knowledge of mechanics and equipment is a plus.

· Frequent contact with all department heads and personnel.

· Occasional contact with Maud Borup, Inc. customers and the general public.

V.

Responsibility

· Manage the administrative and manufacturing operation for Maud Borup, Inc. ensuring food safety quality and customer needs are met. Management scope includes sales, safety, quality, scheduling and financial operations for the company

· Direct: HR/Facility, Production Manager, In-Bound Logistics Manager, QA Manager, Production Floor Lead, Maintenance Manager, Office Manager, Warehouse Manager and all production assemblers and equipment operators.

· Indirect: Line Leads and Assembly Workers

· In the absence of the Director of Manufacturing Operations, VP of Operations, QA Manager/SQF Practitioner and/or HR Manager/SQF Practitioner are backups.

VI.

Physical Requirements

Requires the ability to move about the facility, communicate with contacts, and travel as needed. Must be able to operate office equipment.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
