Witmer Public Safety Group, Inc. is searching for a Director of Operations with hands-on public safety experience, for our fast growing first responder equipment and supply company. We have numerous showrooms, a specialized outside sales force, and five e-commerce websites: TheFireStore.com, OfficerStore.com, theEMSstore.com, GideonTactical.com, and OurDesigns.com. We are seeking an energetic, inquisitive, and process-oriented individual who is ready to oversee the day-to-day operations of our company, and to help ensure that the lives of our customers (first responders dedicated to the Fire, Law, and EMS services) are safer and easier through our business model. Don’t have first-hand knowledge in Public Safety? That’s A-OK—we’ll teach you everything you need to know about our business. You take that knowledge and wield it for good and we’ll call it even (plus salary and benefits).

We want a team player who is ready to tackle challenges head-on: someone who can work as part of multiple teams but is also great at self-motivation and independent projects. Our ideal candidate is obsessively well-organized, loves numbers, and has experience in manufacturing, distribution, e-commerce, and procurement. You’ll be responsible for some of our essential business functions, which include but aren’t limited to: managing and advising managers to ensure we’re time and cost-effective; ensuring standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and/or improved; developing, monitoring, and reporting on operating costs within functional areas; identifying issues within operations and recommending solutions; and overseeing our warehouse (inbound, outbound, and receiving) inventory, embroidery, procurement, and customer service departments.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience; 5-7 years industry experience; experience in warehouse management systems; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; PC proficiency and expertise in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel); NetSuite experience a plus.
