ABOUT ACHIEVERS:
Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) is New Jersey's first public charter school for students in grades 6-12 that provides them with the unique opportunity to take a course of study in STEM fields and Digital Media Arts following the 8th grade and earn up to 60 college credits, enabling students to redefine the high school experience and graduate with skills, experiences, and content mastery that's significant to them in the market place and the world beyond.

JOB GOAL
To provide leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of the instructional program of the high school, and to provide leadership in the development, implementation and coordination of the district's Grade 6-8 Curriculum.
Job Description
To build a more performing school, we need leaders to commit themselves to the most urgent and exciting work of our time! The Director of Math Curriculum is focused on supporting teachers and instructional leaders to deliver high quality learning experience for our students that leads to exceptional academic gains. The Director of Math Curriculum plays a central role in the success of our school and works closely with the Principal and Curriculum directors drive curriculum, assessment, and teacher development. Responsibilities include the following:
Data Driven Instruction
- Conduct deep analysis of data in order to lead effective analysis meetings based on daily student work samples;
- Build grade level/content area action plans and materials to address data;
- Monitor grade-level progress against assessment cycle benchmarks.
Feedback and Teacher Development
- Conduct daily observations, plan/execute feedback meetings that lead to teacher development, and support implementation of action steps;
- Provide real-time feedback to teachers during instruction and contribute to teachers' mid-year reviews;
- Plan and deliver high-quality professional development that trains teachers in systems and key pedagogical issues;
- Plan and execute team meetings for grade-level or content-area staff.
Curriculum and Assessment
- Own organization-wide curriculum and assessment work based on content expertise such as lesson planning, assessment revisions, collaborative scoring, and/or network analysis;
- Facilitate assessment cycles including scheduling, quality assurance of assessment materials, and teacher/student preparation.
- Acts as the testing coordinator
Compliance and Evaluation
Oversees the structure and organization of the Title I services at each school:
- Works with the Principal on the goals for the school each year
- Monitors the use the evaluation protocol and plans/facilitated for additional evaluation professional development
- Assists administrators and teachers in the creation of SGOs for each school year
- Facilitates the completion and implementation of the District's Strategic Plan
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned by the Principal

- Build professional relationships with teachers that support their development;
- Collaborate with the Principal, Dean of Students, Special Education Coordinator, Special Education Teachers, School Social Worker, and other staff to support students' academic and socio-emotional development.
Qualifications
- New Jersey School Administrator Certificate, Principal or Certificate of Eligibility (Strongly recommended, but not required)
- Strong teaching skills and content knowledge;
- Experience and interest in writing curriculum;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Strong communication and negotiating skills, and ability to work well in a team;
- Ability to build, monitor and maintain systems that improve organizational efficiency;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed.
- 3+ years working in classrooms and coaching teachers, preferably in urban schools and/or communities, with a proven record of strong academic achievement;
- Bachelor's Degree.
