What you will do:
  • Responsible for locating, researching, and contracting new land suitable for acquisition and development.

Responsibilities:
  • Locate land suitable for acquisition and development by conducting the necessary market research and due diligence.
  • Determine land values in the specific market by checking property sales by means of public records, developers, and other professional affiliates.
  • Negotiate and contract land acquisition.
  • Coordinate land entitlement and planning activities with the Development team.
  • Coordinate governmental review.
  • Oversee land mapping.
  • Review and monitor purchase agreements.
  • Coordinate joint venture agreements or joint venture management agreements, as appropriate.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing to meet department needs.
  • Delegates work according to employees' abilities and skills.
  • Evaluate employee performance and plan for compensation actions in accordance with that performance.
  • Provides developmental opportunities through the identification of internal and external training opportunities.
  • Creates opportunities for employee growth.

What you will need:
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Business or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License because driving is an essential function of this position.
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of previous related experience.
  • Strong negotiation and contract skills.
  • Requires knowledge of market trends, pricing, and growth & supply.
  • Knowledge of the political environment and the ability to form political connections.
  • Ability to strategically implement the company's goals by acquiring the necessary land to meet the strategic objectives.
