What you will do:
- Responsible for locating, researching, and contracting new land suitable for acquisition and development.
Responsibilities:
- Locate land suitable for acquisition and development by conducting the necessary market research and due diligence.
- Determine land values in the specific market by checking property sales by means of public records, developers, and other professional affiliates.
- Negotiate and contract land acquisition.
- Coordinate land entitlement and planning activities with the Development team.
- Coordinate governmental review.
- Oversee land mapping.
- Review and monitor purchase agreements.
- Coordinate joint venture agreements or joint venture management agreements, as appropriate.
- Ensures appropriate staffing to meet department needs.
- Delegates work according to employees' abilities and skills.
- Evaluate employee performance and plan for compensation actions in accordance with that performance.
- Provides developmental opportunities through the identification of internal and external training opportunities.
- Creates opportunities for employee growth.
What you will need:
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in Business or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License because driving is an essential function of this position.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of previous related experience.
- Strong negotiation and contract skills.
- Requires knowledge of market trends, pricing, and growth & supply.
- Knowledge of the political environment and the ability to form political connections.
- Ability to strategically implement the company's goals by acquiring the necessary land to meet the strategic objectives.
