POSITION SUMMARY

BCI is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join their growing Information Technology team. This newly created position will be responsible for developing and enhancing the organization's use of data analytics. The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with functional leaders to obtain knowledge of business operations and build reports, dashboards, metrics, and other data-driven tools to produce real-time information for improved decision making.

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop familiarity with business areas, including Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Design and Engineering, Production, and Accounting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect business requirements for analytical reporting.
• Acquire data from primary and secondary data sources and identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns within complex data sets.
• Assess current state reporting activities and develop solutions to automate and optimize.
• Develop and implement dashboards, reports, and KPIs to present data in meaningful ways to management and team members across all levels within the organization.
• Monitor the performance of reports and dashboards, complete data validation, and resolve data integrity issues.
• Identify data cleansing opportunities within source systems, and suggest ways to improve data accuracy, data collection systems, and other tools to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
• Work with management to prioritize business reporting needs and establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions.
• Structure large data sets to identify useful material and employ graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize data—present recommendations based on data analysis findings.
• Follow established safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times.
• Participate in a wide variety of other projects and tasks as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field is required.
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience is required. Prior manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Must have previous experience with reporting packages and SQL databases and technical expertise regarding data models, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with ERP systems and underlying data sources.
• Proven ability to present data findings in an easy-to-understand and straightforward manner.
• Excellent critical thinking skills to diagnose and solve problems along with strong business acumen.
• Strong analytical skills to collect, organize, and examine information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-starter attitude that shows initiative and provides recommendations for improvements.
• Sense of urgency for completing initiatives on schedule and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
