Key Responsibilities
This position will report directly to the VP of Engineering for the IOT Business Group.

The specific role is focused on driving a team of engineers working on IoT software products on prem and for cloud. The primary functions of this key leadership position are to partner with cross-functional core stakeholders within both engineering, product management and field teams to lead the technology direction, facilitate key technical decision points, and take the architecture specifications into working engineering outcomes
We are looking for an individual to balance strategic process thinking and "rolling up their sleeves" to resolve issues. A successful candidate must be able to challenge the status quo by demonstrating a willingness to re-invent current processes, and embrace change as a challenge. The candidate should possess the ability to make recommendations and influence change across multiple levels of the organization - from individual engineers & managers to senior executive/business leaders. A "go-getter" approach

- Interface with multiple engineering groups in Cisco, who are responsible for developing the infrastructure and products that define a complete IoT solution.
- Commit to road maps with capabilities and timelines, with a proven track of product development delivered with quality on time.
- Align technology to business strategy, and proactively drive a technical direction throughout the organization
- Document and comply with quality processes following a CI/CD methodology
- 15+ years’ proven experience in software engineering leadership roles
- Strong engineering delivery and execution track record, with proven experience around design concepts, development, quality, integration, testing, etc
- Ability to attract talent, inspire the organization, and develop the next generation of leaders
- Ability to build trusting, meaningful relationships with peers, stakeholders, and partners both internal and external to Cisco
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical influencing, conflict management, negotiation, public presenting
- Full commitment to customer satisfaction and the highest ethical standards
- Identify and drive innovation in Cisco products
- Strong business acumen and industry insight, thought leadership
- Leadership skills to include coaching/mentoring, critical thinking, facilitation, change leadership, and team development
- Thorough understanding of scale-out software architectures for on premises and cloud hosted environments across all layers (infrastructure, security, compliance, operations, and software life cycle management)
- Software development and overall automation including Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, Continuous Integration, build and test automation, orchestration/fulfillment, assurance, performance
- Core infrastructure networking technologies, including network, compute, storage, physical engineering
- Security (intrusion detection/prevention, admin access, FW, identity, access control)
- IoT knowledge base with OT experience is an asset.
