As we have matured as an engineering organization and seen the demands for technology grow exponentially, we’re gearing up to deliver on the next set of opportunities for the business. We are building up an engineering team in house accountable for our strategic products. We’ll have diverse squads made up of engineers with traditional and specialized skillsets, both from internal engineers coupled with our partners, to help us flex with demand and solve technology innovation challenges done at an incredible scale.


Job Description


You will lead a newly created function within Global Technology at McDonald’s. McDonald’s continues to invest in customer and associate facing technologies to improve the overall restaurant experience. To these ends, we work with both internal and 3rd party software engineering teams that support our Mobile, Kiosk, POS, Web and Digital Service platforms. This role will be focused on software engineering excellence and standards across all these teams and platforms. As the owner of this function, you will have a team of Technical Program Managers that each lead a key disciple in a guild-like manner. The areas of focus include but are not limited to Front End Engineering; Back End Engineering; QA and Test Automation; and ADLC Analytics. Each guild leader will lead a cross-functional team of key experts throughout the organization to deliver on roadmaps of technology improvement. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, team builder, influencer of leaders, self-starter with broad technical acumen and a massive amount of intellectual curiosity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Technical Program Managers to develop key cross functional guilds that create the most value in driving engineering excellence in terms of the speed, quality and value of the software we develop with our internal teams and 3rd party partners. organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create high-value roadmaps of technology improvements.
  • Evangelize the program. Garner support of executives and partners throughout McDonald’s.
  • Champion efforts to drive continuous improvement in software delivery speed and quality.
  • Be a critical participant in the growth of your team members. Help them to identify issues; find solutions; gain stakeholder support; become better business partners; and prepare them for bigger challenges.
  • Be a practitioner and evangelist of Agile, DevOps and Test and Learn cultures.

Qualifications


Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination required.

  • 10+ years of recent experience in technology change and program management at enterprise scale organizations.
  • 10+ years of people management experience.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives through trust, education and collaboration.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ability to communicate complex issues to senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date, relevant best practices, solutions and vendors for the full ADLC.
  • Ability to identify problems, provide solutions and lead solutions to reality.
  • Ability to lead a team through transformation.
  • Ability to grow talent and create leaders.
