Huntington Learning Center is to give every student the best education possible. We accomplish this through individualized curriculum based on the results of each student's diagnostic testing results. We work with students in the basic skill areas of reading, writing, math, phonics, and study skills. We also prepare students for the ACT and SAT exams. Supporting grades through 1 to 1 tutoring in Math, Sciences, English, History, etc allows us to provide academic support to all students. We are currently interviewing for the following position:
DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
The Director of Education is responsible for ensuring that every student who attends the center receives the best education possible. The director is responsible for developing and managing students programs, for training teachers and ensuring that each student has a program designed to meet their needs. By working with other full time staff, the right candidate helps manage all inside the center operations, to include: marketing to schools and merchants, managing staff and teachers and ensuring center goals are met.
Must love working with students of all ages and have some experience managing people.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Meet revenue, operational and marketing goals at the center
Meet with school teachers and other associated officials
Administer initial evaluations and assist new students on their first day
Assess and monitor student progress, carefully managing their individual programs of instruction
Provide exceptional customer service
Participate in marketing, community and school-based outreach efforts
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
A minimum of a BA or BS degree
Management, Sales/Customer Service experience desirable
Teaching experience is highly desirable, but not required
Excellent communication and listening skills
A professional appearance and demeanor, consummate people skills and demonstrable talent at interacting effectively with all types of people
The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and the ability to handle customer concerns in a calm and positive manner
A strong desire to work with children in a positive, team-oriented environment and a strong commitment to help children succeed academically
The ability to be detail oriented, have a high level of organization and effectively multi-task is a must.
High levels of energy & enthusiasm, outgoing & confident personalities
A strong customer service orientation
Evening and Saturday availability

Successful candidates will also have the ability to diagnose key indicators of their overall success, and are considered stakeholders in the business as they are responsible for the financial health and overall success of the center.
In turn, Directors are compensated with a base salary commensurate with experience and ability, revenue sharing and goal-based bonuses, paid vacation, and holidays and initial and on-going training and support. The bonus can range from 5k to 20k or more annually, depending on center performance.
