Job Description

The Director, Marketing/Training Technology, in alignment with HPT&D Leadership and Marketing Leadership, is responsible, either independently or via oversight of a training vendor, for working in partnership to analyze, strategically design, develop, implement, and evaluate a Marketing core curricula for all HP teams, both internal and customer facing, in need of such training.
This position will serve as a training liaison between Corporate and the US, holding the position of PRIME Ambassador for the US and often asked to execute training designed and developed at Corporate, as well as participating on Global Advisory Teams to provide input and share Digital training tools and resources.
In addition to the responsibilities related to Marketing Training, the Director Marketing/Training Technology will lead a team responsible for the development and delivery of certain technology related training curriculum in support of all customer facing teams and medical (including Field Based Medicine) and Marketing, as well as other identified targeted employees. This position will oversee the selection, operation and administration of select learning technology platforms, such rosters, reports, testing applications and LMS administration.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for training new Marketers and tenured Marketers, including both TA PCP and SPEC Marketers and Managed Markets (Health System and Payor) Marketers, at all phases of their development.
  • Responsible for analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training for new marketers across the Marketing organization, which includes the following comprehensive training processes:
    • On-boarding for Marketers (such as PRIME)
    • Ongoing Marketing Development (through such programs as MVP)
  • The Director is responsible for developing and then implementing a comprehensive training curriculum, under the umbrella of MVP, to be guided by and ultimately approved by Marketing Leadership
  • Conducts training for both teams, may be in the form of live, virtual, e-learning, or on the job learning activities, and require significant collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Marketing content developed by this trainer is leveraged across the US organization as well as in other country OPUs for use with marketers across the globe.
  • In collaboration with corporate, takes lead role in the design, development and delivery of Integrated Brand Planning training, a global training process executed across all OPUs to brand plan team leads. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current Brand Planning process and procedures.
  • In collaboration with corporate, takes lead role in the design, development and delivery of PRIME Training, a global training process executed across all OPUs to all marketers. Primary responsibility for execution in the US, but may be asked to deliver training in other countries as PRIME Ambassador. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current PRIME Training Process and procedures.
  • Ensures that a strategic approach to technology related training and curricula development is created & delivered around Veeva training to all Customer Facing Teams. This will be developed and delivered for either live or virtual execution.
  • Responsible to ensure development, approval, delivery and measurement of all technology related training as a component of new hire training, POA training and launch related training.
  • Continuously researches and identifies the latest learning technology solutions, best practices and standards to incorporate and/or maintain quality educational based training solutions.
  • Carefully evaluates impact and effectiveness of developed and delivered technologies for training. Works effectively with Global IT and Corporate GTM in evaluating, obtaining alignment and implementing and supporting learning technologies.
  • Ensures ongoing familiarity with customer needs to evolve existing content and develop new content.
  • Accountable for coaching and supporting the Training Technology Team Members in the analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation of training, as well as in the operations and administration of existing learning technology solutions.
  • Ensures application of best practices, consistent business processes and collaborative skills.
  • Creates implementation timelines and adapts deployment of personnel or vendor/contract support as needed to support operational objectives. Supports the developed strategies and tactics as agreed to by Human Pharmaceuticals Leadership and Executive Director, HPT&D.
  • For training materials that they have independent ownership on, lead the HPRC review process cross-functionally by partnering with other HPT&D members (if applicable), Medical, Legal, and Regulatory reviewers, the HP Review Committee Operations Team, and applicable vendor partners.
  • For content that is created (owned) by a training vendor responsible for supervising proper HPRC review of materials and, if necessary, participating in review process via partnership with HPRC members.
  • Ensures the evolution and standardization of curriculum design for Marketing & Training Platforms training and ensuring ongoing alignment and training for other trainers (where appropriate) regarding internal SOPs and Best Practices.

  • Responsible for employee recruiting, hiring, coaching, and development.
  • Allocate job responsibilities and distribute workload to ensure requirements are met. Provide regular feedback, conduct timely MAG Plan reviews, identify performance challenges, create action plans and monitor the effectiveness of those action plans.
  • Identify Development areas and help identify opportunities that will help develop skills and competencies.
  • Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., CIA, EEO, FDA, DEA, OSHA, EPA, PhRMA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures. When violations are noted/observed they are immediately reported to management. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts and BIPI employees in order to maintain the Company’s excellent reputation within the medical and pharmaceutical community.
  • Ensure all training materials are reviewed by the appropriate Medical, Legal, and Regulatory personnel to meet the standards for use as defined by the Company and the FDA.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degrees from an accredited institution preferred (e.g. MBA, MPH, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with proven skills in Instructional Design, Adult Learning Principles, Project Management and Facilitation.
  • Four to six (4-6) years of either direct leadership or leading related cross functional initiatives and/or teams required.
  • Eight to ten (8-10) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry required, with a minimum of one (1) year successful experience in Multi-Channel Marketing or related role highly preferred.
  • Strong Science background preferred or previous experience in Product/TA related training
  • Minimum three (3) years marketing or related experience preferred.
  • Affinity for working with Technology Platforms/Applications: (1) Mobile Apps & PC Software and/or systems (2) Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Demonstrated high energy level, positive attitude, output driven and team orientated.
  • Preferred knowledge of the BIPI sales force structure, and all internal Human Pharmaceuticals departmental structure.
  • Ability to influence, to drive consensus, to build credibility with senior leadership
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, ability to access and influence various functional areas, and motivate groups to action through team building
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a highly matrixed organization.
