We’re looking for an amazing Marine Operations professional to fill this role, which is based in our Santa Clarita office. You’ll be responsible for leading the marine team for marine projects, itinerary planning and expedition support. Coordinates with other departments and assists the regional teams as required. Maintain oversite of the Seabourn expedition ships and other HA Group brands during preparation and execution of exotic and remote itineraries. Support HA Group ships in complying with IAATO, AECO, and the polar code requirements. The Deputy Director of Expedition Support will report to this position.

Responsibilities
- Collaborates with all HA Group Deployment Planning teams in reviewing itineraries to verify they are operationally safe and viable.
- Manage the port validation program and verify that all published ports have been sufficiently reviewed and approved by marine operations.
- Oversees Marine Information Network.
- Maintain oversite of the Seabourn expedition ships and other HA Group brands during preparation and execution of exotic and remote itineraries.
- Support HA Group Ships in complying with IAATO, AECO, and the polar code requirements.
- Fleet Manager for all HA Group brands for OneOcean (Environmental Voyage Planning System).
- Leads the marine team for marine projects and coordinates with other departments as required.
- Review marine related policies and procedures in draft, identifying suggestions to VP and Sr Director Marine prior to implementation. Verify marine related policy changes are implemented across the four brands.
- Review relevant Regs4ships circulars and ensure marine operations is aligned with any new requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
- Minimum of 5 years seagoing experience as a Deck Officer
- Knowledge of the ISM Code, as well as other International Maritime Regulations
- Knowledgeable in Passenger Shipping Operations
- Effective oral/written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Office
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nautical Science, Deck License preferred
- Knowledgeable in Passenger Shipping Operations
- Experience working with a safety management system program and providing feedback or developing new procedures for continuous improvement of that system
