You will manage the US Managed Care Rebates operation to ensure the accurate and timely system set up and payment of all contractual rebate obligations to Managed Care Commercial and Medicare Part D customers for Novartis Pharmaceuticals and its divisions.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
MBA is preferred.
Experience:
10+ years’ direct experience in financial analysis, customer payments and contracts or related expertise.
Pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience is required.
5+ years of people management experience. Experience leading cross-cultural virtual teams is preferred.
Solid understanding of payment procedures and systems including advanced knowledge of contract and rebate systems such as Model N, ECP and SAP.
Expert understanding of legal aspects of contracts and contract interpretation.
Ability to present complex information and data sets in an understandable and compelling manner.
Demonstrated project management experience and problem-solving as a member of a cross-functional team.
Advanced understanding of healthcare industry marketing and sales concepts and practices, including knowledge of market access, formulary management, performance-based contracts and price protection. In depth understanding of managed care customers.
Strong understanding of data and digital tools to advance data literacy and analytical expertise.
Experience taking data analysis from a range of sources and develops relevant insight that is directly used in decision support.

You will manage the US Managed Care Rebates operation to ensure the accurate and timely system set up and payment of all contractual rebate obligations to Managed Care Commercial and Medicare Part D customers for Novartis Pharmaceuticals and its divisions.
- Lead a global team responsible for entire rebates operation for US customers including US and India-based associates. Ensures appropriate account distribution and work assignments to optimize workflow and processing of rebates.
- Ensure accurate and timely rebate payments made to all customers including Medicare Part D and Coverage Gap. Accurately evaluates and interprets contracts to ensure rebate payments are made accurately and timely. Reviews and approves all rebate disbursements.
- Manage contract and rebate issues and provides guidance to staff to resolve claim data discrepancies. Recommends strategies to settle disputes with internal and external customers as needed.
- Use resources and technology such as data science, automation and AI to improve insight generation and reduce or eliminate low value, transactional work.
- Prepare regular reports for departmental management and other key stakeholder including cash flow actuals and projections. Ensures accurate recording of rebate claims and tracks key department metrics.
- Supervise the advancement of the area’s data literacy including the design of innovative solutions for system, validating, processing and tracking of rebates, and ensuring database integrity, regulatory compliance, including mainframe systems.
- Partner with the Digital Finance Department’s liaison to coordinate the use and maintenance/improvements of the department systems to optimize operations and advance analytics.
- Work with the Commercial Contract Strategy teams to ensure compliance with Federal regulations, accurate reporting and data integrity.
- Participate in product and teams to ensure alignment between commercial and government pricing, plus strategy.
- Hire and ensure smooth on-boarding of new associates. Ensure relevant training to support performance. Manages performance and ensures robust, measurable development plans.
- Determine department budget and set departmental goals/objectives and monitors performance.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of managed markets finance department policies and procedures. Partner with other functions to provide innovative solutions.
