Position Profile:

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the commercial development leader on the Global Molecule Team, leading execution of pre-commercial activities including development of: business case / recommendations, commercial rationale, target product profile, market analysis, value proposition, product features / presentation, tradename, global positioning / branding
  • Lead cross-functional team to develop long-term strategic business plans, brand strategy and opportunity across global regions
  • Contribute to shaping the molecule overall clinical and development strategy by integrating market dynamics, competitive intelligence, value positioning, regional input
  • Advocate on behalf of customers (patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, payers) during product development interactions
  • Spearhead commercial view of life cycle strategy, including assessment of new formulations, new indications, label enhancements and go/no-go decisions to maximize the value of the product portfolio
  • Ensure seamless transition to the launch team at the appropriate time in the development cycle aligning with the launch excellence framework to execute a best in class global launch
  • Support the development of revenue and financial forecasts associated with development programs and identify key strategic levers tied to investment decisions
  • Present market insights and strategic recommendations to Senior Management

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of commercial pharmaceutical work experience, 5+ years of which is new product planning and / or direct brand management experience
  • Experience leading a commercialization planning effort for a near-term development or in-line product

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Very good understanding of pharmaceutical business and development including regulatory, clinical development, commercial related issues
  • Able to gather and translate customer requirements for product development teams through market research and development of target product profiles
  • Ability to formulate opinions and insights from desk research, market research, audit data, and competitive landscape, coalesce multiple viewpoints and pieces of information into a point of view
  • Excellent analytical research skills and ability to translate market research output / audit data / other market inputs into actionable plans and compelling narratives
  • Characteristics: Curious, desire to learn cross-functionally, openness to other viewpoints, inclusive, collaborative, detail-oriented, patient focused, empathic, visionary
  • Superb analytical, critical thinking, risk assessment, stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial participation in a product launch; Business development, medical affairs, market access, or drug development function in a pharmaceutical or biotech company a plus
  • Neuroscience / psychiatry experience preferred
  • Excel & PowerPoint high level of proficiency

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • BA in life science and MBA strongly preferred

Description of Physical Demands

  • Occasional mobility within office environment.
  • Routinely sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Constantly operating a computer, printer, telephone and other similar office machinery.

Description of Work Environment

  • Work indoors in normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes.
  • Frequent computer use at workstation.
  • May move from one work location to another occasionally.
  • Responsibilities may require a work schedule that may include working outside of “normal” work hours, in order to meet business demands.
  • Occasional public contact requiring appropriate business apparel.
