Opportunity
Larson Design Group is seeking a qualified professional to serve as the Director of Geospatial Services. In this position, the Director will oversee the delivery of the services provided by our team of Survey, Mapping, Geomatics and GIS professionals in support of a wide array of projects, clients and geographies. The Director of Geospatial Services is responsible for the growth, advancement, development, and leadership of employees.
This position is responsible for the service lines performance to ensure that goals for sales, revenue, profitability, quality, client growth, and sustainable growth are met. The Director of Geospatial Services manages Technical Managers, Project Professionals, Project Managers, and other personnel located in multiple offices providing services across diverse markets and geographies.
- Lead and mentor direct reports regarding growth, learning, development, compensation, training, skill acquisition and advancement.
- Lead department specific client and business development initiatives.
- Responsible for meeting sales goals within the department.
- Prepare and deliver various technical presentations, both internally and externally as needed.
- Responsible for all contract scopes, schedules and budgets within the department and for assuring compliance with industry/client accuracy standards as well as LDG and department policies and procedures accuracy, as related to Geospatial disciplines.
- Review and approve submittals, proposals and presentations.
- Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for survey, mapping, GIS and related technical projects.
- Review project results and report results to VP of Infrastructure and ensures that the mitigation measures are identified and implemented when needed to achieve planned project goals.
- Prepare departmental business plans, budgets workload forecasting reports and staffing plans.
- Strategize and drive process improvements focused on effective use of Geospatial technology solutions (LiDAR, Unmanned Aerial Systems, GIS, etc.) to increase accuracy, decrease time to complete and minimize repeat and/or manual work to control costs and deliver effective, value-added solutions.
- Track and analyzes performance results from standard and customized business reports
- Professional Licensure or Degree in Survey Technology, Geography, Geographic Information Systems or related A/E/C field strongly preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: PLS, GISP, PE, AICP or other professional licensure/certification in field of expertise strongly preferred.
- Minimum of fifteen (15)+ years’ related experience related disciplines.
- Experience and relationships within multiple markets, such as Federal, State, Local Government, Water/Wastewater, Energy, Transportation, Telecommunications strongly preferred.
- Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Regular regional travel, and nationally as needed; overnight travel will be necessary throughout the year.
