Job Summary
The Director, Digital Medicine is responsible for supporting the commercial leadership of digital medicine by leading short, medium and long term strategic initiatives. The director will coordinate across digital medicine commercial and cross-functional and data programs and support executive communications and direction. Given the nature of digital medicine, this role is critical in defining the roadmap creating and expanding a market for Digital Medicines & the broader digital medicine category.
Job Description
Continued refinement of strategic direction for Otsuka’s digital medicine business and evaluate progress within portfolio. Support commercial leadership in the oversight of multiple cross-functional teams and programs focused on short, mid and long term commercialization approaches, which integrate portfolio expansion and evidence generation. Identify, define, manage and drive execution and performance of strategic initiatives (i.e. competitive intelligence, market assessment). Evaluate business development opportunities and execute resulting digital medicine portfolio and commercialization programs. Develop and deliver executive communications and presentations, both for US and Japan leadership. Build a thorough understanding of all areas of the digital medicine business to help develop and inform priorities, resolve conflicting priorities, proactively identify potential issues/roadblocks. Evaluation of potential alliances or partnerships to support growth
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree (business, marketing) preferred
Minimum 8 years of pharma/biotechnology/digital health experience, in either management consulting, product innovation or growth-oriented/entrepreneurial role
Comprehensive understanding of digital health/device product development, manufacturing, regulatory, medical and clinical functional areas
Agility, flexible mindset and ability to navigate ambiguity; Expertise in real-world data strategies associated with digital products; Business development experience a plus
Strong business acumen including analytic capability to build compelling business cases supporting investment recommendations
Strong written and oral communication skills
Comfort working within start-up, innovation based culture, with small collaborative team environment which requires constant iteration, pivoting and re-prioritization
Self-reflective and self-motivated individual who can operate independently
