We focus on a wide range of public health issues including food and nutrition, health insurance, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health, tobacco control, and HIV/AIDS. • Work with VP of Development and Marketing and grant writer to create a robust private foundation giving program to support new opportunities that advance PHS’ work.
  • Consistently engage with PHS’ on-the-ground services in order to create inspiring donor appeals, targeted messaging and motivational content.
  • Identify and implement new donor relations opportunities involving the President and CEO to cultivate larger gifts and advance Board development.
  • Manage a Development Coordinator in the creation and execution of virtual and live fundraisers, prospect research, Raiser’s Edge documentation and management, gift processing and vendor invoicing.
  • Apply best-in-practice development strategies to all development work including, but not limited to, annual goal setting, donor segmentation, moves management, and social media marketing.
  • Work closely with a team of marketing, social media and communications experts to collectively create new ideas and think through strategies to grow financial support and awareness for PHS.
  • Manage all office systems related to Development, including maintaining updated donor files, tracking spreadsheets, correspondence and gift acknowledgments, and upkeep of department policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of development experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
  • 3-4 years of frontline major gift experience with demonstrated ability to grow a donor prospect base and successfully close major individual and corporate gifts.
  • Desire to reach aggressive fundraising goals, and the ability to independently solicit and secure private gifts.
  • Ability to conceptualize and describe funding needs in a way that is compelling to prospects, donors, board, and other stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Results-oriented self-starter who has a passion for fundraising and helping New Yorkers in need.
